Language café
Thursdays: 30.1., 27.2., 27.3., 24.4., 22.5 from 5 pm to 7 pm
In language café you can speak different languages in small groups and find new friends in a laid-back atmosphere. Languages may change, but usually there are tables for English, Somali, German, Arabic, Persian and Spanish.
English for beginners
Thursdays from 3 to 4:30 pm
English language conversation group
Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 pm
Persian
Mondays from 5 to 6:30 pm
You can learn basics of Persian.
Spanish
Fridays from 2 to 4 pm
The group is organized by volunteers and accepts learners with different language levels.

The multicultural family café is an open meeting place for people of all ages. We offer many types of activities that we plan together with families. You’re warmly welcome to the café!
Breakfast 3€/family at 10-11, songs and play in many languages.
Staff members of family services and experts in different fields visit Monimessi regularly.

Multilingual Guidance and Counseling by International House Jyväskylä
Tuesdays from 14:15 to 16:00 (no appointment needed).
Service languages: Finnish and Russian
The service provides guidance and counseling on topics such as residence permit-related questions, housing, hobbies and leisure activities, booking health care appointments, and assistance with filling out forms.

The group focuses on discussions and gaining knowledge about the position of women in Finnish society. Together, we reflect on questions related to femininity and societal influence in a safe atmosphere.
Facilitators for the group are Saara Jäntti, Ph.D., in charge of Gloria’s volunteer activities, and Arja Miettinen, M.Sc., the leader of Gloria.
